The YT-73137 cable locator is a device for controlling and locating cables. It is used to route a wire in the wall, identify a network cable in the server room, locate a break in the car's electrical installation, verify the order of connections in the RJ-45 cable, and check the condition of the telephone line.
It consists of two devices: a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter is connected to the wire being searched for and then, after turning on the SCAN function, transmits a signal with a frequency known to the receiver. The receiver can wirelessly intercept a signal from a distance of up to several centimeters* from the cable being sought.
It is resistant to interference. The signal received by the receiver is converted into sound free from noise and crackling. The power of the transmitter allows the signal to be transmitted over a cable over a distance of at least 1 kilometer. The built-in jack socket in the receiver allows you to connect, for example, the headphones included in the set.

Locating cables in walls, including: for safety purposes, it must be carried out without mains voltage present in the cable being sought.
*The receiver will capture a stronger signal if one of the crocodile clips of the transmitter cable is connected to ground. Grounding can be either the grounding wire in the home installation or, if there are no other options, also our body touching the floor. Internal tests confirmed the reception of the signal transmitted in the cable from a distance of 15 cm from the receiver (measurement without any obstacles between the receiver and the cable).
